Overall

These scans are performed on a weekly basis

Notes:

  • Scans before 10.01.2019 used a handshake that is compliant to multiple IETF drafts, these should be draft-09 to draft-14
  • Starting 10.01.2019, we will be scanning with a draft-17 compliant handshake packet, thus only draft-17 compatible IPs are shown starting then
  • Starting 05.09.2019, we will be scanning with a draft-22 compliant handshake packet, thus only draft-22 compatible IPs are shown starting then
  • Starting 02.04.2020, we will be scanning with Connection IDs of 18 bytes length, Google services seem to not work with short CIDs

Versions

These scans are performed on a weekly basis.

Notes:
  • Restrictions from above apply.
  • Version according to: https://github.com/quicwg/base-drafts/wiki/QUIC-Versions
  • One host can support multiple versions, this is simply the count of what we see.
  • The version dummy represents a reserved version following the pattern of 0x?a?a?a?a. So dummy is a proxy for if this pattern was sent or not.

Sets of Versions

These scans are performed on a weekly basis.

Notes:
  • Restrictions from above apply.
  • One host can support multiple versions, this is simply how often we see which combination of versions announced.
  • We strip the dummy version, otherwise this would explode.

Overall

These scans are performed on a weekly basis

Notes:

  • The scan from 27.07.2018 did not complete due to a hard drive failure and is a bit short of data (78% of IPv4 were scanned)
  • Starting with 11.01.2019, we increased the initial packet size to over 1200 byte to account for Google's quic_limit_version_negotiation. Further, we switch from announcing Version Q001 to 0x0A0A0A0A. We further switched to 2 byte packet numbers.
  • Starting with 08.03.2019, we reverted to 1 byte packet numbers which is not compatible with litespeed QUIC servers as pointed out by Dmitri Tikhonov.
  • Starting with 17.04.2020, we changed our scan schedule to scan only every other week (''even'' weeks)
